I Introduction and basic requirements

This course explains the basic technology in civil engineering. Its objects are to make students understand the material technical properties, types, applications, inspection methods and storage information. It will enable students to make proper selection in designs and constructions and bring out their creativity in the practice, which will be the solid foundation in the following study.

II Objects and requirements

Civil Engineering Material is the practice section in the teaching.

 Its objects are:

1. get familiar with civil engineering material standards, regulations and technical requirements, learn about materials properties and state.

2. learn about basic experiment methods and operations, use instruments and settings, inspect regular material quality.

3. carry out basic research training and process data, cultivate the research and analysis ability and work our solutions. Be critical about scientific study and research work.

4. make students more creative and improve their practice ability by the combination of theoretical study and practice.

Students are required to

1. Preview and understand test purpose, basic principle and operations. Learn to use instruments and materials

2. Set up strict procedures in the experiments and abide by the operations. Observe carefully in the experiments and take records in detail.

3. Analyze test result and write report.

4. It is required to carry out the tests according to the experiment guidebook , design plans, make conclusions and find out regulations in the opening experiments.

1. credits will be assessed in this course.

Experiments account for 20%, including preview 10%operation20%attitude 10%report and analysis 60%.

2. marks will be printed on the university report card at the end of each semester

3. report should be in unified .format. on the cover it should have course name, program number, experiment name, department, class, applicators' name, time, venue, teacher's name of guiding and evaluating the experiments.

4. report should cover experiment name, object, content, principle, instruments( name, regulation, mark), setting illustration, procedures, records, data process( principle demonstration or description, structure illustration )

.5.original record should be attached with the report
